Being acutely aware of the crucial role it plays as the regulator of electricity services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Electricity Regulatory Authority is striving to improve services for all stakeholders. The Authority's highest priorities are to ensure consumers have access to electricity at consistently high levels of efficiency and reliability, set at fair prices, and to protect private and public interests. SERA aims to ensure that all parties comply with their duties by strengthening the regulatory framework for measuring licensee performance indicators, determining the performance levels of service providers, and implementing a comprehensive standards program.
To attract investors, SERA is fostering an investment-friendly environment by establishing a transparent, ongoing regulatory framework that overcomes investment barriers and improves the quality of the Kingdom’s electricity services by optimizing available resources.
To achieve long-term sustainability and enhance efficiency in the sector, in line with Saudi Vision 2030, SERA has developed a mechanism that enables service providers to achieve their required returns on investments whilst increasing the efficiency of the electricity sector in the Kingdom and improving and transforming the electricity grid into smart and digital networks.
SERA places great importance on engaging with beneficiaries and interested parties, and actively encourages feedback, opinions, and suggestions on how to enhance the promotion of the electricity sector and improve its services. One of the most effective ways to contact the Authority, or access the services it provides, is through its E-Services portal.
